YNYSGEDWYN WARD The Ynysgedwyn ward includes the site of the old Ynysgedwyn ironworks, which produced iron and later tinplate from the 17th to the 20th Centuries. It comprises part of ystradgynlais and the community of Glanrhyd. Both the local secondary school, Maesydderwen, and the Ystradgynlais Community Hospital are located within this ward, and the main local sports fields, including cricket, tennis, football and rugby fields, and the Ystradgynlais rugby clubhouse
