CWMTWRCH WARD This ward comprises the Twrch Valley and parts of the Gurnos. Cwmtwrch is a linear settlement along the valley of the river Twrch, or Boar. Legend has it that King Arthur and his men chased the vicious Twrch Trwyth along the course of this valley. Details may be found in the story of ‘Culhwch and Olwen’ in the ‘Mabinogi’, the ancient Welsh tales. Cwmtwrch has a Welfare Hall, a rugby club, and a number of local shops.
